• Nichols for the fast, efficient, and great job on the sun visor repair, from a very grateful customer.

• Sam’s Club for selling some of the best chain store meat around.

• Roger and Diane Hardin for the sweet sign in my front yard.

• all the family and friends for making the birthday parade a special day Sunday.

• all our neighbors on Woodcrest Court helping us make the birthday parade Sunday a special day.

• COVID-19 for solving the school shooting crisis in America.

• those who reject ignorance and bigotry, on July 4 and every other day.

• governors and front-line workers doing their best to control the coronavirus while the elected leader tries to tweet about any other issue to deflect attention from his failures.

• Mike Kutsko playing the bagpipe and Daniel Merz playing trumpet every night in our neighborhood to honor health care workers and those affected by COVID-19.

• the Krogers cashier who brought my airpods all the way to my car after I dropped them in the store.

• Doug Southern and Associates and CNB Home Improvements for the awesome job.

• Kyle at Sam’s Club for being so pleasant and helpful getting the fountain into the van, from the lady in the grey van.

• Larry Jackson for his letter to the editor.

• Gov. Eric Holcomb for his effective handling of the virus.

• Larry Jackson for his view in Wednesday’s paper, from someone who totally agrees with him.

• Thea Purdue for graduating magna cum laude from Ball State University, from your proud grandparents, Pastor Lonny and Lamma Goens, and your church family at Taylorsville United Methodist Church.

• Tammy and Tracy for taking care of us even before the pandemic by taking us to doctor’s appointments and emergency rooms, buying groceries and prescriptions, love, Mom and Dad.

• Bob Jr. for providing carry-out meals four days a week, keeping employees hard at work at the restaurant in Columbus, from Mom and Dad.

• Betsie, our next-door neighbor, for giving us delicious homemade cookies delivered by her three adorable children.

• people for the cards, calls, waves, and smiles, they are appreciated.

Onions to …

• the westside housing association and neighbors for not supporting the local roofing business.

• parents who allow children to set up lemonade stands in Tipton Lakes during social distancing.

• those who didn’t realize coronavirus killed more Americans in 30 days than the flu killed in one year.

• those who didn’t know taking medical advice from a failed reality TV show host would be a bad idea.

• people against wishful thinking.

• those who forget that when you tell the truth there is only one story and you don’t have keep inventing new ones as the facts come out.

• those people who don’t wear a mask when shopping — you can pass the virus to others even when you don’t have symptoms.

• the federal elected official who should for the first time in his life get a real job and earn a real living instead of his lifetime career of sucking up.

• federal elected officials inhabiting the White House trying to manage the national pandemic response which is still non-existent.

• the politicians who want to hurt our country to win the presidency.

• those thinking that ‘God-given’ rights even exist, or that they apply to following Twitter advice from a clueless national leader eager to boost his poll numbers.

• the letter on Wednesday that was filled with hate, ignorance and bigotry.

• the driver in the silver vehicle who cut me off in a no-passing zone on 25th Street, almost causing a wreck.

• those who think that people around the world somehow have a right to come here.

• the big grocery store that has no cart wipes, no keypad wipes and they don’t protect their employees.

• the agency allowing non-COVID-19 patients to die alone.
