Otis Sherdon “Rhoadie” Rhoades, 75, of Scipio, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
Before retirement, Sherdon worked in research and development. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. He loved all sports, especially boxing and racing.
Born on September 6, 1944 in Hartford, Kentucky, Sherdon was the son of Otis Dean and Alma Hoover Rhoades. He married Linda Smith on November 30, 1991, and she survives.
Other survivors include children, Amber Rhoades and Amanda Rhoades of Columbus; step-son, James (Suzee) Blake of Columbus; grandchildren, Myra and Nina Perez of Columbus; step-grandchildren, Nicole (Jarrett) Noel of Bloomington and Ashley (Craig) Goddard of Columbus; step-great-grandchildren, Hayden, Veda, and Dylan Noel, and Kinleigh Miller; and sister, Thelma “Zelma” (Tommy Harper) Kissling of Hope.
Sherdon is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Faye Kissling; and step-daughter, Jennifer Goddard.
A private viewing will be held at Norman Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Hawcreek Cemetery.
