I want to tell you why I support Dom Glover’s candidacy for Judge, Superior Court II. As you probably know, Dom has been practicing law for 23 years. His drive to understand the legal system was ingrained in him since his days observing in courtrooms through high school and college.

Running for judge isn’t a career move for Dom — it is the next step in his lifelong personal mission.

If you want to elect a judge who lives and breathes the law…

If you want to elect a judge who is devoted to hard work and self-improvement…

If you want to elect a judge who is dedicated to helping people live up to their potential…

If you want to elect a judge who believes in contributing to this community….

Vote for Dom Glover.

Dom has the experience and temperament necessary to be judge.

Here’s why that mattes.

Experience: Depth of knowledge + Breadth of Perspective + Servant Leadership

Experience matter because as judge you have to have a depth of knowledge and breadth of perspective. Obviously, a judge needs thorough understanding of the law, but just as important is an understating of the limits of their knowledge.  A judge needs to know when they need more information or to research an angle. I want a judge who is smart enough to know what they don’t know and humble enough to say so. We need someone with perspective, someone who asks good questions.

Dom is smart (though he would describe himself as a hard worker who surrounds himself with smart people to learn from). More importantly, Dom is curious and driven to learn. That’s important because you want a judge who is always striving for growth.

You want a judge who wants to dive into the nuances of the law as well as the economic and social pressures in their community. Judges don’t make public policy, of course, but they have a unique perspective. They can guide public conversation about how to strengthen our community.

Temperament: Calm + Compassionate + Professional

A judge needs to have a calm, even-keel temperament. People come into court in challenging circumstances. You can make a decision about a situation without being judgemental toward the person. That’s what I see in Dom; he has a fundamental compassion toward people and a calm demeanor where he listens to understand.

I have referred many people to Dom over the years. He has an ability to relate to all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds. It’s a rare ability to connect with all kinds of people and make them feel comfortable, at ease, and like a valuable human being in the most difficult moments of their lives.

Dom Glover has the wisdom, perspective, experience and temperament to be an excellent judge. I support him, and I hope you do too.
