COLUMBUS
Earlen E. Wilkerson, 93, of Columbus, died at 2 p.m. May 19, 2020, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation.
Earlen was born May 5, 1927, in Jackson County, the son of Clifford and Doris Arthur Wilkerson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the South Pacific and North Africa during World War II. Earlen was employed as an accountant at Cosco for 23 years. After Cosco he worked for Sunset Lighting, Atlas Lighting and purchased Catalina Lamp and Shade in California.
He was a member of Taylorsville First Baptist Church, Eagles Lodge and the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed Bingo.
A private graveside service will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor Tom Collett officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Survivors include his daughter, Debra (Jerry “Chuck”) Stevens of Columbus and a son, Tony (Connie) Wilkerson of Wildomar, California; stepdaughters, Carolyn Priest of Columbus and Cathy O’Sullivan of Florida; grandchildren, Carrie Stevens of Taylorsville, Jim (Alisa) Stevens of Hollywood, Florida, Matt Wilkerson of Mission Viejo, California, Lorie Maschino of North Vernon and Angie Tyre of Florida; great-grandchildren, Erika Hardman, Ethan Stevens, Kevin Morris, Lake Maschino, Lance Maschino and Dylan Tyre; and great-great-grandchildren, Brylynn, Weston, Waylon Dora.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Melba Mace Bonsett; and second wife, Margaret Wilkerson; and stepson, John Smith.
