NOBLESVILLE
Paul Eugene Riddle, 90, of Noblesville, formerly of Columbus died at 5:42 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Heritage Woods in Noblesville.
Paul was born in Spurgeon, Indiana on February 23, 1930, the son of John and Mildred Johnson Riddle. He married Emma Woolsey June 7, 1952 in Oakland City, Indiana and she survives in Noblesville.
He was a 1952 graduate of Alabama University, where he played basketball, and a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War. He got his masters degree from Indiana State University in 1953. He was a vocational school teacher and served as Administrator/Principal of McDowell Adult Education Center in Columbus. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a member of The Columbus Elks for many years.
His awards and honors included; Outstanding Adult Educator in Indiana for the Year 1977, Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation Hall of Fame Award 1988, Adult Education Administrator of the Year 1993, Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow Award 1990, and The Sagamore of the Wabash .
He is survived by his wife, Emma Riddle of Noblesville; son, David A. (Anne Hite) Riddle of Noblesville, daughter, DeAnn (Andy) Martin of Georgetown, IN; grandchildren Shaleen (Michael) Blume of Fishers, IN, Jenelle (Geoff) Brady of Fishers, Delaney Riddle of San Diego, CA; and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kelsey Lynn Martin.
A private graveside service will be conducted Friday at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor David Blystone officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 12 Friday the 29th at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street, due to COVID-19 guidelines visitors may experience a wait time and may be asked to wait outside.
