Letter: Andrews works well with others

From: Shirley Duncan

As a former teacher and as a mother and grandmother, this time of year makes me think of report cards. Grades are earned by following the instructions of teachers and others who are responsible for your education. Character, however, is measured by how one behaves when others may not be “watching” or grading one’s performance.

Character is the very reason that my husband, Larry, and I have chosen to support Scott Andrews for Judge of Bartholomew County Superior Court 2. The position of judge should not be based exclusively on politics, but also knowledge of the law, capability to work well with all people, discernment, and the character of one who will judge fairly in accordance with the law.

Scott is hardworking, honest, and fair. He has the grit and determination to continue this commitment to the community of Bartholomew County. Scott’s educational background, experience as a lawyer, and involvement in his community alone are sufficient reasons to make him an excellent choice for judge, but it is his excellent character that stands out as his greatest attribute.

I know the values that were instilled in Scott by his family and his faith, but, simply put, Scott is a fine gentleman who is open-minded, ethical, and fair. He is devoted to serving the needs of all people, of all walks of life, within our community. He has proved his ability to work well with and for others.

Please join me and cast your vote for Scott Andrews for Judge of Superior Court 2 in the Republican primary.
