Allison and I are lifelong friends of Dom Glover, so it was an easy decision for me to join as treasurer of his campaign for Judge of Bartholomew County Superior Court 2. Being on the inside of a political campaign has been a real learning experience for me personally, but also has given me the privilege of seeing the candidate up close and personal over the past 12 months. What I witnessed firsthand only reinforced what I know about Dom and I think it is worth sharing with you.

Dom approached this campaign exactly how I want any judge to approach running a court. He established a vision for how he wanted to run this campaign. The “North Star” was based on executing it with the highest level of integrity in everything we did. Dom and the campaign have lived up to this high standard. This is also his vision for how he will run Superior Court 2.

Dom did a tremendous amount of research into past elections, studied voting trends, and networked with other local figures who had past experience running campaigns. He asked many questions, and more importantly, listened. It is critically important that a judge spends the energy to research legal issues and listens to all points of view shared in the courtroom. Dom will do just that.

Dom and the committee crafted a tactical plan to cover all of the various facets of the campaign: fundraising, networking across the entire county, attending a wide diversity of community events, advertising, etc. The campaign plan was established, tasks were delegated, and results were tracked. Dom and the campaign have tried to maximize the return on investment for every expense, out of immense respect for those who supported us financially. Operating a court also requires similar leadership and operational skills and I know Dom will excel in this regard. The taxpayers will be well served by Dom.

As the campaign reaches the primary election, the temptation is high to question past decisions and attempt new tactics as we also react real time to what the other candidates are doing. We are all “flying blind” in a certain sense, as we do not have polls to inform our standing in the race. But Dom has demonstrated a steady hand and cool demeanor, staying true to our North Star and tactical plan. Judges have to also block out the outside noise, follow the law and rule fairly. Again, I know Dom will live up to that standard.

Integrity, research, critical listening, operational excellence, fairness, calm demeanor and 23 years of courtroom experience. These are exactly the qualities and legal experience I want in a judge. I know from having witnessed it the last 12 months, these are exactly the qualities that Dom Glover will bring to Superior Court 2.

Allison and I humbly ask that you join us in voting for Dom Glover in the Republican primary this Tuesday, June 2.
