COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested an Indianapolis suspect in a continuing investigation into a reported robbery at the Centra Credit Union on North U.S. 31 on Feb. 4.
Arrested was Jeremy A. Weed, 33, Indianapolis, who was located in a hotel in Franklin, sheriff deputies said Tuesday.
Weed was taken into custody without incident on an unrelated charge and is currently serving time in an Indiana Department of Corrections facility, deputies said.
Based on information obtained during the investigation, a warrant for the arrest of Weed was issued for Level 5 felony robbery and auto theft, and Level 6 felony theft, deputies said.
Bartholomew County Sheriff’s detectives were sent to the credit union after the reported robbery where video footage showed a suspect leaving the bank and getting into a tan or gold Pontiac.
Approximately 10 minutes after the robbery occurred, a citizen reported a vehicle, matching the description of the vehicle seen in the video footage, on fire in the area of Tannehill Road and County Road 280W. The vehicle had been reported stolen to the Beech Grove Police Department on Feb. 2, 2019.
