A little over half of Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. families have returned responses to a parent survey seeking data to determine reopening strategies for the fall semester.
Superintendent Jim Roberts said BCSC has received more than 7,000 responses since the survey was placed online on the school’s website at bcscschools.org, including a survey translated into Spanish.
Roberts stated at Monday’s board meeting that BCSC has more than 11,000 students, and parents are asked to fill out one survey per child, so about 60% of students are accounted for at this point.
“We did see some responses to our survey about, ‘This is going to feel odd if I don’t know what the plan is,’” Roberts said. “And we appreciate that take on it, but we were kind of asking what inclination that first inclination was of a parent to get the kids back in school and then what their concerns were about doing that, so we could build the plan around that.”
Parents and guardians can access the reopening survey by visiting https://forms.gle/kv8vXconSb9BPc2D7/. A Spanish form is also available at https://forms.gle/XzM1zkBmBJR4memn7. Parents and guardians are requested to complete the survey by Friday.
