INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) said 440 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 40,786 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.
Bartholomew County is reporting 558 positive test results with 42 deaths.
The Bartholomew County Health Department said 6,634 tests have been performed with the 558 positive results and 5,193 negative results. There are 1,069 tests pending in Bartholomew County.
Surrounding counties reported:
Decatur County: 237 positive tests, 32 deaths.
Jennings County: 142 positive tests, four deaths.
Shelby County: 408 positive tests, 23 deaths.
Johnson County: 1,174 positive tests, 115 deaths
Brown County: 36 positive tests, one death.
Jackson County: 421 positive tests, two deaths.
A total of 2,265 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 14 over the previous day. Another 182 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 363,745 tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 355,829 on Monday.
Intensive care unit and ventilator capacity remains steady. As of today, more than 40 percent of ICU beds and 82 percent of ventilators are available.
Any Hoosier seeking COVID-testing can obtain it through one of the state-sponsored OptumServe sites, including one in Columbus, regardless of whether they are at high risk or have symptoms. Anyone with concerns about COVID-19 is urged to call the health system’s Triage Resource Call Center, a phone resource line launched by CRH to handle calls from residents with questions and concerns about exposure or symptoms associated with COVID-19. The phone line is open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is staffed by registered nurses who will offer screening questions and potentially recommend a course of action for patients.
