Northwestern Mutual donates to St. Vincent and Ronald McDonald houses

To further its commitment to the fight against childhood cancer, Northwestern Mutual — Indiana recentlyy announced a donation of $25,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities and St. Vincent House.

The organizations will use the funds to support families undergoing childhood cancer treatment, as well as for increased and evolving organizational needs due to COVID-19.

The Northwestern Mutual Foundation awarded this grant in recognition of managing partner David Kiecker’s Lifetime Achievement award for leading his office to be the first location to exceed $500,000 in funds raised for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, the company’s national philanthropic childhood cancer research partner.

Of the $25,000, Ronald McDonald House Charities received $15,000, which was distributed to its South Bend, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis locations helping families heal by keeping them close to their hospitalized child.

St. Vincent House received $10,000 to support its mission of providing a home-away-from-home for St. Vincent Hospital patient families, including those affected by childhood cancer and other life-altering health event.
