The online application for the 2021 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship, administered by the Heritage Fund and Independent Colleges of Indiana, is available.
The scholarship provides full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis that leads to a baccalaureate degree at any accredited Indiana public or private college or university.
Two Lilly scholarships will be awarded to Bartholomew County students in 2021.
Applicants must reside in Bartholomew County, be on course to graduate with a diploma from an accredited public or private Indiana high school by the end of June, 2021, have at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and demonstrate significant school involvement, community service, good character and leadership skills, along with financial need.
Finalists must be available for personal interviews with the selection committee. They must intend to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study beginning in fall 2021 at an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana.

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program aims to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana and to increase the ability of Indiana community foundations to enhance the quality of life for the state’s residents. It encourages and supports efforts of current and past Lilly Endowment Community Scholars to engage with each other and with Indiana business, governmental, educational, nonprofit and civic leaders to improve the quality of life in Indiana and in local communities.
Since the program begin in 1998, there have been 49 Bartholomew County students who have been named Lilly Endowment Community Scholars.
