COLUMBUS
Loretta Nuby, age 72, of Columbus, IN passed away on Tuesday July 7th, 2020.
Loretta Nuby was born to Genevieve and John E Ruffin SR on July 16th, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio. Loretta earned her high-school diploma, her Cosmetology License, and CNA Certification. She provided health care services to the elderly and mentally challenged residents at several facilities in Columbus, IN for more the 48 years.
She was a dedicated member at Calvary Community Church of Apostolic Faith under the leadership of Bishop and Pastor Sims. She was one of the first members of the church and served for more than 40 years. Her faith in God and devotion to the church was demonstrated in her daily life and her love for others.
Loretta Nuby was small in stature, but mighty in faith. She took a leadership role in everything she did and made sure everyone around her was taken care of. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading her bible, singing in the choir, and praising God. She was a true matriarch of the family.
She was a devoted, caring, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunty, and confidante who was loved by many.
Survivors include her daughter, Shannon Nuby, her grandchildren Tremain Wilson and Tyshawn Nuby SR, her great-grandchildren Tyrell Nuby, Serenity Wilson-Fairconnetue, Jasmine Wilson, and Amari Wilson, her Sisters Greta Nichols (twin), Darlene Henderson, Deborah Johnson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve and John Ruffin Sr., her sister Charlotte Tevis, her brother John E Ruffin JR, her granddaughter Jalea C Wilson-Fairconnetue, and grandson Tyshawn L Nuby Jr.
Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Barkes Weaver & Glick Funeral on Monday, July 13th. Bishop Charles A Sims officiate.
Viewing will begin at 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. and Funeral Service will begin at 1 p.m. The funeral home is located at 1029 Washington Street, Columbus, Indiana, 47201.
