• Ruben Guthrie for understanding the realities of teaching and substitute teaching and that traditional school during a pandemic won’t work, from your former teacher who is very proud of you for speaking out.

• surgeons and health care workers wearing masks all day long to protect patients and not whining that it is inconvenient.

• James Persinger and Dr. Julie Bilz for efforts to do the right thing for our community and keep students and staff safe.

• the Columbus Youth Camp staff for providing a magical summer experience for my son, as well as a chance to experience camp myself, during a fun-filled, well-organized Community Day.

• everyone who thinks to themselves, “If I can save one life wearing a mask, then I will wear a mask.”

• those willing to stand up against authoritarian actions being taken by our government.

• Dale Clegg, the best neighbor one could ever have to help doing things.

• the party who brought my breakfast last Saturday morning, it was appreciated.

• Superintendent Jim Roberts and all the BCSC administration for trying so hard to do the right thing for our students.

• Dirk for being an excellent tractor wingman on my recent John Deere purchase.

• sports teams testing daily when those tests are desperately needed in states with rising cases, sports are not essential.

• the federal leader who absurdly believes that increased testing spreads the virus — greatly increased testing is necessary for virus control.
