No new cases at Flat Rock-Hawcreek, one mask referral

HOPE — Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corp. is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 for this past week of classes.

The school corporation’s website provides weekly updates on the number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases and student referrals related to masks and social distancing.

This week, there were no new cases of COVID-19. There was one student referral at Hope Elementary for “failure to properly wear a mask.”

Each weekly report contains only the numbers for the past week; the site does not show a running total. For this past week and the week ending Sept. 11, no new COVID-19 cases were reported. The week ending Sept. 4, there were two cases reported at Hauser Jr./Sr. High School. For the week ending Aug. 28, there was one case reported at Hauser, meaning the overall total is three.

Superintendent Shawn Price has said in the past that the school corporation is not including remote learning students in its weekly posts regarding case counts.
