COLUMBUS
Sharon K. Jessee, 73, of Columbus passed from this life on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 1:30 a.m. at her residence.
Sharon was born November 21, 1946 in Columbus, Indiana. She was an avid music lover of 50’s and 60’s music. She loved dancing to this music her whole life. After High School she married William “Bill” Taylor, they had four children. She loved going to all their sporting events her sons participated in and doing girl things with her daughter. She moved to the southside of Indianapolis with her family and they owned a paint and construction business for over 30 years. After her husband passed away, she moved back to Columbus to retire and in 2008 she married Don Jessee of Columbus. In their retirement they loved to travel, especially to their friends in Nashville, Tennessee. Sharon also loved her yard and growing flowers. She loved all the holidays and having her family down for big dinners. She was extremely proud of her family and especially of her sons and all they have accomplished in life.
After her daughter passed away, she took a job at Chic-Fil-A, she loved working and meeting people. She especially liked working with the young people there, they loved her as a mother figure.
Sharon and Don are believers in the Christian faith, belonging to Parkside Baptist Church of Columbus. Sharon had been active in church her whole life. She had been in ill health since last year.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her 3rd child, Mark Taylor; her first husband, William “Bill” Taylor; and her daughter, Amy R. Taylor.
She leaves behind her husband, Don Jessee of Columbus; brother, Mike Cooper of Columbus; half brother, Don Belleville (Gretchen) of California; sons, Robert Taylor (Mindy) of Mooresville and Douglas Taylor (Pam) of Indianapolis; grandson, Zach Taylor (Katie); great grandson, Benjamin of Indianapolis, Trevor Taylor of Indianapolis, Josh Taylor (Brandi); great granddaughter, Hayden of Texas, Caleb Taylor of Maine, Robbie Taylor (Michelle) of Indianapolis; step-daughter, Sarah Jessee Didier (Kenny); and step-grandchildren, Carley and Gunnar of Green Bay, WI.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Dr. William Bailey and Dr. Kendall Hadler officiating.
Family and friends may call for visitation from 10:00 a.m. till time of services at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Entombment will follow at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.
