COLUMBUS, Ind. — The local African American Fund, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus, and the Columbus Human Rights Commission along with other community collaborators have organized a free, virtual film showing of the Sundance-acclaimed film “The Fight” from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 6.
The film portrays the work of the American Civil Liberties Union in their representation of cases highlighting issues of social justice, emigration, women’s rights, gender equity, health care and others. Specifically, it highlights the American Civil Liberties Union’s four key legal cases against the Trump Administration — cases which include 147 lawsuits.
One of the cases includes immigrating families being separated at the border of Mexico and the United States. Another includes the transgender military ban.
Viewers can register at thefight2020.eventbrite.com. They also can make a donation there to cover costs of presenting online the documentary that some reviewers have labeled “emotional.”
