VENICE, FLORIDA
David Allen Mihay, 84, of Venice, Florida passed from this life on Saturday, September 26, 2020.
Mr. Mihay was born on June 28, 1936 in Indianapolis the son of Gustav A. and Ollie Smith Mihay. On November 14, 1959 at Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus he married Janice L. Mundt. David served in the United States Air Force Reserves and went on to work 30 plus years as a Commercial Construction Sales Representative. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice, Florida.
Mr. Mihay was a happy resident of Florida for over 50 years, but always had a love for the Tennessee mountains. He was an avid sports fan, loved traveling and going on cruises, didn’t know a stranger and enjoyed storytelling.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Janice L. Mihay of Venice, Florida; daughters, Kimberly Ann (Greg) Eldred of Westfield, Indiana and Kelly Lynn (Robert) Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Dillon Eldred, Evan Eldred, Carson Eldred, Lauren Brown, Jenna Brown, Tristan Brown and Brinley Brown; brothers, Bill Mihay and Jerry (Lou Ann) Mihay; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Mark Teike officiating.
Family and friends may call for visitation from 12:00 p.m. to time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Entombment will follow at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
