INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 1,495 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the state laboratory, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 122,640 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 3,429 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 13 from the previous day. Another 227 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 1,398,522 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 1,387,731 on Thursday. A total of 2,114,835 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
Bartholomew County reported 1,220 positive tests (up 11) with 57 deaths (no change) on Friday.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 799 positive cases (up 14) with 10 deaths (no change).
- Jennings County: 320 positive cases (up one) with 12 deaths (no change).
- Decatur County: 463 positive cases with 39 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 692 positive cases with 29 deaths (no change).
- Johnson County: 2,441 positive cases (up 32) with 124 deaths (corrected total).
- Brown County: 104 positive cases (up one) with three deaths (no change).
