Despite a little rain, Bartholomew County Commissioners extended a countywide burning ban which began in early September.

1995

Road crews working on the finishing touches on Southern Crossing, the road linking U.S. 31 to State Road 11, requested an increased police presence because many motorists were using the new road before its official opening creating a dangerous situation for workers.

To open National Fire Prevention Week in Columbus, local firefighters gave local children free rides in fire trucks and free balloons during a fire show at Bakalar Air Base.
