CRH hospitalizations for COVID-19 steady at five

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Columbus Regional Hospital has remained steady over the past week and a half even as total hospitalizations due to the coronavirus have increased across the state.

As of Tuesday morning, there were five patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at CRH, up two from Sept. 26, though the local hospital census has hovered between five and six since this past Wednesday.

Tuesday was the 41st consecutive day with fewer than 10 COVID-19 hospitalizations at CRH. The last time there were double-digit hospitalizations was Aug. 26, when there were 12 hospitalizations.

Two of the patients at CRH on Tuesday morning were listed in critical condition, with the remaining three in stable condition, the hospital said.

Two of the patients are Bartholomew County residents. The other three patients are residents of Jackson, Jefferson and Jennings counties.
