COLUMBUS
Edward M. “Ed” Williams, 73, of Columbus, passed away at 12:00 a.m. Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Ed was born November 8, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Albert Francis and Margaret Isabelle Irwin Williams, Sr. On April 20, 1984, he married Charlotte Stringer.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Charlotte; children, Patricia Williams, Margaret Herrlee, Eddie (Becky) Williams, all of Indianapolis, Beau (Rebecca) Williams of Tennessee, Eric (Jenni) Barnett of Brown County; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Rodney Williams, also of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Barbara Chambers; brother, Albert Francis Williams, Jr. and sister-in-law, Jullie Williams.
The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church ~ Clifty with Pastor Douglas Bauman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church. In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place after the service. The funeral service may also be streamed live at stpaulcolumbus.org.
