Columbus police arrested a local man on drug-related charges after they received a report of a suspicious person in the 400 block of South Gladstone Avenue.
Police were sent to the area at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday and made contact with Jordan E. Axsom, 31, of 3134 Wedgewood Court, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Officers noted that Axsom appeared to be under the influence of an unknown drug and they confirmed a parole warrant for his arrest, Harris said. Axsom was taken into custody without incident and the officers recovered heroin and marijuana that Axsom had concealed in his clothing, Harris said.
Axsom was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for jail clearance and later remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and the parole warrant, jail officials said. Axsom is being held without bond at the jail.
