COLUMBUS
Carolyn J. McDonley, 85, of Columbus, passed from this life at 2:32 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. McDonley was born July 16, 1935, in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of Frank A. and Thelma Loyd Brown.
Carolyn married Robert H. McDonley July 16, 1954, he preceded her in death November 17, 2017.
She was a longtime homemaker and formerly employed at GTR.
A member of Garden City Church of Christ, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
Survivors include her children, David McDonley of Waynesburg, Rita McDonley of Columbus and Tawnya (Ken) Sonnemaker of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Candace (Dwight) Luttrell and Megan Welch; great-grandchildren, Joshua (Allene) Richardson, Hanna Richardson, Sophie and Zoe Shafer and Andy Luttrell; great-great-grandchild, Elias Richardson and a sister, Evelyn Bedwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Travis McDonley; brothers, Kenneth and Norman Brown and a sister, Charlotte Tremble.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday at Garden City Church of Christ with Brian Gilroy officiating.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to time of service at the church.
We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the church and masks are required.
Inurnment will be at a later date at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
