Letter: There are many reasons to vote for Nowlin

In Dale Nowlin we have the opportunity to elect an outstanding and exceptional person as our State Representative for District 59. His credentials as a teacher, math department chair, former president of the Indiana Council of Teachers of Mathematics, presidential awardee for excellence in science and mathematics, and member of the National Assessment Governing Board are certainly impressive and enough to convince me to vote for him.

However, the real reason I’m going to vote for Dale is that I respect him and want him to represent me in our state government because he is a thinking, caring, and giving person with the ability to understand the issues facing our state. He is willing to work to find solutions, and has the strength of character to vote to do the right thing. He has demonstrated this in the many hours he has devoted to students, to his schools and to public education. As a former BCSC School Board member, I truly appreciate this dedication.

Dale is also an active church member serving as an elder and chair of the adult nature committee. Dale serves on the steering committee of the Historic District Neighborhood Alliance in Columbus. He is committed to protecting and preserving our environment, public education, and working for the fair treatment of all people.

Please join with me in voting for Dale Nowlin on Nov. 3 so we can be represented by a person who is willing to work for all of us.
