K9 Bravo returns to work

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Sheriff’s K9, Bravo, has recovered from two surgeries to repair an on-the-job injury involving torn ACLs to his right and left knees.

There were no complications during the surgeries and veterinarians have released him to return to his normal duties, deputies said Tuesday.

His handler is Deputy Leah Burton. Bravo had surgery in July and August.

“Bravo is one-third of our K9 Unit,”said Bartholomew County Sheriff Matthew A. Myers. “I cannot stress enough the importance of this K9 Unit and the affect Bravo has had on finding and keeping illegal drugs out of our community.”
