COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Bartholomew County Library is changing its service levels effective Wednesday and continuing through Nov. 27.

The change is to address the rise in community spread of COVID-19 and the county’s move back to Stage 4.5, said Jason Hatton, library director.

The library is encouraging patrons to use the library’s curbside service by placing holds online through mybcpl.org or calling the reference department at 812-379-1266. Grab and Go is in place for those who want to go inside the building, however patrons are asked to limit their time inside the library.

The reference staff will be available to answer questions in person or via phone or email.

All chairs are being moved so that patrons will not be able to sit at tables for studying or other purposes and all meeting room usage is being suspended. A one-hour time limit will be in effect for computer usage with availability at 50% capacity.
