EDINBURGH
Torin N. Scott, 68 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away November 6, 2020 at her residence. She was born May 12, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the daughter of Stanley Z. and Nettie (Cederstrand) Scott.
She is survived by her sons, Justin L. Scott of Edinburgh, Indiana and Cody L. Scott of Phoenix, Arizona, daughters, Charise Griffin of Greenwood, Indiana, Maria A. Scott of Indianapolis, Indiana, Stephanie F. Scott of Columbus, Indiana, and Carolyn L. Scott of Tempe, Arizona, grandchildren, Connor A. Scott of Edinburgh, Indiana, Rylie K. Scott of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Dresten M. Scott of Edinburgh, Indiana, brothers, Robert Cederstrand of Fairmont, Georgia and Lee Scott of Hong Kong, China, and sister, Kathryn L. Scott of Toledo, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Stanley Scott.
Torin retired from Arizona Supreme Court as a department supervisor. She attended Edinburgh Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Edinburgh Antique Club. She restored the Toner-Maley House in Edinburgh and rented it as a Bed and Breakfast for many years. She was also instrumental in restoring Toner-Maley and Walnut Street Historic District in Edinburgh. Torin was a tireless advocate for children with special needs and fostered over 30 children. President Bill Clinton awarded her the Adoption Excellence Award for her involvement with children.
Her wishes were for cremation and no public service.
