COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Aileen Marie Bolton, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, died November 15, 2020. She was 91 years old. Mrs. Bolton was born on December 1, 1928 in Indianapolis. She married the late Walter Bonar Bolton of Danville on February 12, 1950. Mrs. Bolton is survived by their two daughters, Arleen Bolton (Andrew Finlayson) of Franklin, Tennessee and Donna Kupferer (John) of Columbus, Indiana. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren Luby (Kevin), Elgin Kupferer (Mindy) of Columbus, Indiana, Tyler Kupferer, Alysha Kupferer (Matt Montgomery) and Kathryn Finlayson (Jordan Bridges); and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Bolton was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Bonar Bolton; her parents, Raymond and Eleanor Unversaw; and her sister, Marilyn Tharp.
Mrs. Bolton was an award winning professional artist in oil and watercolors. She attended Butler University, Indiana University and the John Herron School of Art for her formal years of training. In 1983, she and her husband moved from Indianapolis to Nashville, Brown County. She had an art studio there and displayed her work at the Brown County Art Guild and many regional and state art shows.
Mrs. Bolton was a member of the 7th and 8th United Christian Church in Indianapolis and the Nashville Christian Church. She was also a member of Hoosier Salon, Indiana Heritage of Arts, Brown County Art Guild, a charter member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington D.C., and Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
A private burial was held at Nashville’s Greenlawn Cemetery.
