BOYS BASKETBALL

North routs Seymour

SEYMOUR — Columbus North jumped out to a 33-18 halftime lead Saturday and cruised from there to a 68-34 win at Seymour.

Blake Barker led the Bull Dogs (2-1) with 23 points. Max Wilson scored a career-high 16, and Cooper Horn added 14.

Millers edge Olympians

NOBLESVILLE — Columbus East played close throughout the game, but Noblesville came away with a 72-68 victory.

Tyler Boyer led the Olympians (0-2) with 26 points. Daniel Murphy added 16, and Ben Sylva had 14.

Lancers win at buzzer

EDINBURGH — Chase Littlejohn made only one basket, but that was a big one — an 18-footer at the buzzer to lift Edinburgh to a 51-50 win against Indian Creek.

Noah Detling led the Lancers (2-0) with 10 points. Riley Palmeter and Travis Jones each added nine, and Caleb Dewey had eight.

Trinity falls twice

LOOGOOTEE — Trinity Lutheran fell to Rock Creek Academy 69-58, then lost to Evansville Day 73-72 in the third-place game of the Loogootee Tournament.

Tyler Goecker scored 26 points against Rock Creek. Hudson Norton added 13, and Jacob Sabotin had eight.

Goecker led the Cougars (0-3) with 27 points against Evansville Day. Norton scored 18, and Sabotin and Evan Hunt each added eight.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Olympians top Pioneers

MOORESVILLE — Columbus East climbed back over the .500 mark with a 50-45 win at Mooresville.

Koryn Greiwe led the Olympians (4-3) with 19 points. Leah Bachmann added nine.

Bull Dogs split pair

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus North bounced back from a 60-38 loss at Lawrence North with a 52-45 win against Castle in the Lawrence North Classic.

Madison White led the Bull Dogs with 11 points against the Wildcats. Lauren Barker added eight.

North (4-2) rallied from a 30-23 halftime deficit against Castle. Alexa McKinley scored 17 points, while Kyhah Lawson added 14 and White had 12.

Jets stop Shiners

RISING SUN — Hauser overcame a 10-9 deficit after one quarter by outscoring Rising Sun 26-9 in the second period and held on for its first win of the season, a 59-54 decision.

Kyliegh Parrott and Hannah Taylor each scored 18 points to lead the Jets (1-1). Hannah Johnson added 13 points.

Panthers down Lions

RUSHVILLE — Jennings County led only 30-26 at halftime, but pulled away in the second half for a 58-44 win at Rushville.

Addyson Kent led the Panthers (2-0) with 26 points. Juliann Woodard and Kali Thompson each added 11.

Wildcats nip Lancers

BROOKVILLE — Edinburgh rallied from a 13-point third-quarter deficit to force overtime, but Franklin County outscored the Lancers 4-3 in the extra period to pull out a 63-62 victory.

Annelise Lollar led the Lancers (1-2) with 21 points. Gracie Crawhorn had 16, and Callie Hancock added 11.

Trinity tops Spartans

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran picked up its third consecutive victory, a 56-51 win against Southwestern (Shelby).

Bailey Tabeling scored 23 points for the Cougars (4-1). Sydney Jaynes added 22 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and seven blocked shots.

Panthers sweep Frogs

Perennial power North Central swept Columbus North 109-74 in the boys meet and 124-59 in the girls meet.

Christopher Lee led the Bull Frog boys with wins in the 50-yard freestyle (21.44 seconds) and 100 backstroke (52.98). Kyan Jiles took the diving competition (217.75), and Aidan McAlister captured the 500 freestyle (5:12.65).

For the North girls, Riddhi Garg won the 50 freestyle (26.02), and Helen Alderfer took the diving (167.25.
