A local man with multiple warrants was injured and then arrested Monday morning after he reportedly broke a window at a vacant Columbus business.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., CPD officers were dispatched to the 200 block of North Gladstone Avenue in regards to a man who broke a window at a vacant building, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officers located the suspect, Entony Rodriguez, 24, of 180 Cambridge Court — E, who was sitting in a nearby vehicle. While the officers were speaking with Rodriguez, they noted that he was bleeding and observed a large cut on his back that required medical treatment, Harris said. The officers also determined that Rodriguez had three Bartholomew County warrants for his arrest.

Rodriguez was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for medical treatment and upon being discharged, he was remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail for the three local warrants. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible in the case, Harris said.

Rodriguez was being held at the Bartholomew County Jail with no bond.
