INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said 6,655 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 350,970 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 5,688 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 91 from the previous day. Another 285 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 2,232,102 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,217,258 on Tuesday. A total of 4,342,486 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
Bartholomew County reported 3,675 positive tests (up 60) with 65 deaths (no change) on Wednesday.
Surrounding counties reported:
Jackson County: 2,552 positive cases (up 74) with 37 deaths (up three).
Jennings County: 1,024 positive cases (up 20) with 15 deaths (no change).
Decatur County: 1,418 positive cases (up 11) with 46 deaths (up one).
Shelby County: 2,128 positive cases (up 42) with 61 deaths (up two).
Johnson County: 7,484 positive cases (up 215) with 177 deaths (up two).
Brown County: 399 positive cases (up four) with five deaths (no change).

The testing site in Columbus is located in FairOaks Mall at the former JC Penney location.
The Bartholomew Health Department and Windrose Health Network is also offering free COVID-19 testing.
Dates and times may vary, with evening and Saturday appointments available. The phone number is 812-379-1555, Option 1.
Testing will be available to all members of the public regardless of symptoms. Children as young as 2 years of age can be tested with parental consent.
