Turning Point opens its holiday store for clients

Staff Reports

Turning Point Domestic Violence Services has opened its holiday store for clients in need with the opportunity to receive gift assistance through generous donations from the community.

The agency is assisting 90 adults and 209 children this holiday season.

In years past, clients have been invited to shop, free of charge in the Turning Point office for their children’s holiday gifts.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and concern for the health and safety of staff and clients, the usual procedure for the holiday shopping has been changed.

This year, donations from the community to the holiday store may be made via online wish lists through Amazon.com and Walmart.com. Links to these wish lists are available on the Turning Point website at turningpointdv.org/ under the Events tab at the top of the page.

When you visit the wish lists, Turning Point is asking that you select the agency’s administrative offices at 1531 13th St., Columbus, IN 47201 and include a gift receipt so the agency knows who to thank.

Turning Point case managers will be shopping the donations for clients based on lists they have provided and then hand-deliver the donations to them.

Turning Point is requesting that orders for the holiday shop by Dec. 14 so that they arrive before Christmas.
