COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a local woman after they were approached by a witness at 6 p.m. Monday in the area of 1250 N. National Road about a possible intoxicated driver.
The suspect vehicle was located in a parking lot near that location and the driver, identified as Tasha Lynn Barnes, 38, Columbus appeared to intoxicated, deputies said. Drug-related paraphernalia as well as a white crystal substance were located on her person, deputies said.
Following clearance at Columbus Regional Hospital, Barnes was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of three counts of possession of a controlled substance and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, deputies said.
She remains in jail in lieu of $67,500 bond.
