Tyler Boyer // Columbus East senior basketball player

Boyer led the Olympians with 24 points Saturday in a 75-68 loss at Southwestern (Hanover).

His performance last week: “We’ve been working a lot offensively and making sure we can shoot shots when we needed to, and we’ve all been able to shoot well, so it’s been a good start to the year for that.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I usually just listen to music and make sure I eat a snack and get good Gatorade in me before the game.”

Favorite drink: “Mountain Dew”

Favorite food: “Homemade chili from my mom”

Favorite class: “Accounting with (Robert) Hartman”

Favorite sports team: “Ohio State and the Indiana Pacers and Colts”

Favorite athlete: “LeBron James”

Role model: “My parents (Melissa and David Boyer)”

Best advice: “Every day you practice or play a game, go out and do your best because you never know when it’s going to be your last time.”

Athletics goal: “To finish the season off well and then maybe go play college basketball and see where that takes me.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Hawaii, because I’ve heard how beautiful it is and all the places you can see there.”

FEMALE

Koryn Greiwe // Columbus East junior basketball player

Greiwe led the Olympians with 19 points and set a single-game school record with 13 assists Saturday in an 88-41 win against Orleans.

Her performance last week: “I think I played an overall game. I had points, rebounds, assists and steals, and that’s something I really wanted to improve on this year.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just make sure I’m focused and prepared for the game.”

Favorite drink: “Water”

Favorite food: “I really like grilled chicken salad.”

Favorite class: “Radio and TV.”

Favorite sports team: “Cincinnati Bengals”

Favorite athlete: “Joe Burrow”

Role model: “My parents (Keith and Kerry Greiwe).”

Best advice: “Be the difference maker in the game. Be willing to put the team on your back and lead your team to a win.”

Athletics goal: “Win state.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Australia, because of the blue waters.”
