BUILDER’S GUILD-VIRTUAL PROGRAM, Dec. 4 to 31. Join the Bartholomew County Public Library’s Builder’s Guild and participate in building challenges, exchange ideas, and share your creations in our virtual headquarters. WHOVILLE SKATE, 2 to 4 p.m., Dec. 20, Hamilton Community Center & Ice Arena, 2501 Lincoln Park Drive, Columbus. Come skate with the Grinch and have a magical time in Whoville. Cost is $4.50 for adults 18+, $4 for ages 5 to 17, and free for ages 4 and under. Cost is an additional $2 per skate and/or scooter rental.

WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO? A free online program through Dec. 31 will guide participants through the creation of their spending and savings plan and provide practical resources for them to use in their own lives. The six-module course includes videos, interactive activities, self-assessments and downloadable spending tracking forms. The program is self-paced and can be completed at the viewer’s convenience. Participants should allow approximately four to six weeks to complete the modules and associated activities. After completion of the course, participants will understand how current money management practices affect financial security, how to establish good financial management practices and new habits that create personal financial security. Best practices that will be explored and discussed include identifying spending leaks, categorizing needs vs. wants, tracking expenses and establishing written financial goals. The exhibit, designed by RedBox of Chicago, includes a detailed timeline with items from the BCHS collection, a hands-on map table that features maps dating back to the early 1800s, a “notable people” wall and a “then and now/did you know?” carousel full of fun facts. The works of cut paper collage artist Ann Woods and watercolorist Bruce Kell are featured during the month of November at Hoosier Artist Gallery. Ann creates vibrant nature-inspired collaged images with colored and handpainted papers.
