COLUMBUS
D. Neil Coy, 92, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:26 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2020 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Coy was born June 21, 1928, in Bartholomew County, the son of Lora and Mina McKee Coy.
He married Annie Ruth Ridge August 13, 1946.
Mr. Coy retired from Amos Plastics as superintendent of molding after 33 years of service and later from National Lead.
He was a member of Westside Community Church and Old Union Christian Church, Edinburgh Masonic Lodge No. 100 and Fish Creek Muzzle Loaders Association.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed raising cattle, breaking horses, blacksmithing, woodworking, boating, hunting and the 23 summers he spent on the Ohio River
He attended Atterbury Schools, Edinburgh High School, American Management Association and Purdue University Supervision Institute.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years; son, Steven N. (Susan) Coy of Columbus; daughter, Connie Sue Coy (Denny Jr.) Taylor of Columbus; grandchildren, Elijah (Elizabeth) Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor (Justin) Recca, Grace Coy (Joel) Campbell, Isaac (Erica) Coy, Amy (Josh) Grieger, Matthew (Melissa) Coy, John DeBolt and Elizabeth DeBolt; 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ethleen Voris, Mercedes Park and Carman Freeze and brothers, Clifford, Hansel and Dennis Coy.
Private family visitation is planned at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Garland Brook Cemetery with Dennis W. Aud officiating.
