Clayton Perry, promoter of the Jennings County Outlaw Karting, which conducts events at the Jennings County 4-H Fairgrounds in North Vernon, has released the class champions for 2020.
Layden Burton of North Vernon captured the boxstock outlaw title over Parker Perry, Norman Girard and Peyton Watts.
Troy Neal took the flatheads division over Kevin Cunningham, John Trowbridge, Terry Turner and Cody Hines.
Robert Doyle grabbed the senior champ title over Tyler Wells, Wyatt Barr, Jeff Harris and Bella Deckard.
Peyton Watts took the beginner boxstock crown over Brody Watts, Zach Roell, Easton McKittrick and Bentley McCann.
Jake Roell nabbed the junior 1 class championship over Keygun Headlee, Maddie Morgan, Brooklynn McCann and Brooklyn Summers.
Connor Perry took the youth champ division over Daniel Cloud, Chance Carr, Kolin Alcorn and Karson Kummer.
Kevin Cunningham was the top driver in the rwyb class, winning the title over Clayton Howard, Aaron Fields, Derek Franks and Brandon Walden.
Leroy Blevins won the limited open crown over Sam Alloway, Kyle Willis, Travis McCann and Aaron Fields.
Ryker Williams took the top honor in the junior champ division winning over Preston Carr, Destiny Harris, Zane Riley and Brycen Whitee.
Evan Shatto won the junior 3 class going undefeated for the year in the class. Shatto took the championship in the division over Jacobi Clark, Miles Inman, Madisyn Garris and Calli Lucas.
Jacob Chadd won the junior 2 class over Lucas Manion, Aiden Hurst, Ari Hicks and Bradley Brown.
Robby Young will be honored as the 380 clone champ, taking the top driver in the division over Chris Buchanan, Colby King, Nathan Sipes and Eddie Foley.
Travis Wilburn won the 400 clone division over Kyle Ryan, Bryce Foley, Kyle Thayer and Jordan Less.
Isaac Johnson won the 340 clone division for 2020 over Chris Buchanan, Robby Young, Jacob Beck and Colby King.
The 2020 Points Banquet will be at 5 p.m. Jan. 23. It will be held in the Community Building at the Jennings County Fairgrounds. Top five in every class and top 10 in the rookies will be awarded. You must be present at the banquet to receive your awards.
Doors will open at 4 p.m. They’ll start serving dinner at 5 p.m., with awards to follow. Dinner will be catered same as last year by Bad Boys BBQ.
Tickets are $15 a person, $8 for ages 3-10 and free for ages 2-and-under. Banquet Tickets must be paid for by Dec. 27th. No tickets will be sold at the door. To order tickets, contact Clayton Perry at 812-718-7236.

Brownstown Speedway has named its 2020 track champions. The awards banquet will be held on Jan. 16.

Circle City Raceway adds Andretti Memorial
In its inaugural year, Circle City Raceway has announced it will hold a USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget event on June 9, 2021, during Indiana Midget Week.
The race will take place in honor of John Andretti, one of the most versatile drivers of his generation, a USAC National Midget winner, USAC Regional Midget champion and multi-time starter of the Indianapolis 500.
The event will also benefit an organization that John has spent decades dedicating his time and fundraising efforts to, Race4Riley at Riley Hospital for Children.
John Andretti was the first driver to attempt “Double Duty” in 1994 for both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600. The name of the Indiana Midget Week event will be the “John Andretti Memorial Double,” benefitting Race4Riley in honor of his accomplishment.
To stick to true double fashion, 410 Sprint Cars will accompany the midgets throughout the night with the goal to get as many drivers to attempt double-duty as possible.
Jarett Andretti, son of John and a USAC National Sprint Car Rookie of the Year himself in 2014, is working closely alongside Circle City Raceway to bring even more light to Race4Riley.
“We are very excited to be associated with an event in Dad’s honor,” Jarett said. “We are even more grateful to tie it to a cause near and dear to his heart in Race4Riley. We look forward to seeing everyone in mid-June for one of the best weeks of the year, Midget Week.”
Jonathan Byrd, general manager of the Speedrome and Circle City Raceway stated, “It has been a dream of mine for six years to turn the Marion County Fairgrounds into a dirt track, especially for midgets. The Byrd family is excited about reliving the ‘double’ because of what my father and John accomplished over 25 years ago.”

Fleetwood passes away
Bill Fleetwood of Columbus passed away on Tuesday. He was 88.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked in Research and Engineering at Cummins
Engine Company retiring in 1993 after 35 years of service.
He was involved in dirt track racing for many years first as a driver, then he and his wife Marty owned race cars for several years. Among the drivers racing for the Fleetwoods were Darrell Smallwood, Paul Crockett, Carl Collins, Russ Petro and Kenny Mize.
He and his wife ran the concession stands at the Brownstown Speedway and Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon, and they were the race promoters at Brownstown in 1999.
