State: 4,839 additional Hoosiers diagnosed with COVID-19

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said 4,839 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 457,871 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 7,017 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 73 from the previous day. Another 321 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 2,505,094 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,492,370 on Friday. A total of 5,196,436 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.

Bartholomew County reported 4,902 positive tests (up 33) with 77 deaths (no change) as of Saturday.

Surrounding counties reported:

Jackson County: 3,436 positive cases (up 24) with 41 deaths (no change).

Jennings County: 1,530 positive cases (up 17) with 27 deaths (up two).

Decatur County: 1,915 positive cases (up 26) with 61 deaths (up one).

Shelby County: 2,998 positive cases (up 39) with 68 deaths (no change).

Johnson County: 10,427 positive cases (up 166) with 207 deaths (up three).

Brown County: 602 positive cases (up five) with eight deaths (no change).
