INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said 6,088 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 453,139 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 6,944 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 84 from the previous day. Another 321 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 2,492,370 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,491,6814 on Thursday. A total of 5,157,016 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
Bartholomew County reported 4,876 positive tests (up 69) with 77 deaths (up one) as of Friday.
Surrounding counties reported:
Jackson County: 3,413 positive cases (up 50) with 41 deaths (no change).
Jennings County: 1,513 positive cases (up 24) with 25 deaths (no change).
Decatur County: 1,889 positive cases (up 42) with 60 deaths (up two).
Shelby County: 2,955 positive cases (up 27) with 68 deaths (no change).
Johnson County: 10,274 positive cases (up 185) with 204 deaths (up one).
Brown County: 594 positive cases (up 16) with eight deaths (no change).

The testing site in Columbus is located in FairOaks Mall at the former JC Penney location.
The Bartholomew Health Department and Windrose Health Network is also offering free COVID-19 testing.
Dates and times may vary, with evening and Saturday appointments available. The phone number is 812-379-1555, Option 1.
Testing will be available to all members of the public regardless of symptoms. Children as young as 2 years of age can be tested with parental consent.
