Looking Back – December 20

Seven-year-old Max Creech and Sgt. Curt Beverage of Columbus Police Department looked over the toy department at Walmart during the annual "Shop With a Cop" outing in 1995. The annual “Shop With a Cop” program paired 133 children with Columbus Police officers to shop for clothes, toiletries and toys for Christmas.

1995

Columbus Board of Works approved changing the name of Columbus’ ice rink from Lincoln Center to Hamilton Center in honor of the family whose donation of $650,000 in 1957 made the facility possible.

1970

The congregation of Berean Bible Church at 51 N. Brooks St., dedicated a new sanctuary and Sunday school facilities.
