BCSC has begun the new semester with hybrid learning for secondary students and in-person learning for elementary students. According to a recent statement from the school corporation, the hybrid model will remain in place for middle and high schools for at least two weeks, through Jan. 15.

Monday’s community spread update from the task force showed the following:

  • There are 54 new positive cases, and the number is decreasing.
  • The per capita positive rate is 65.6 and increasing.
  • The percent positive test rate is 39.3% and decreasing.
  • There are 46 COVID hosp

  • Test turnaround time is 2.3 days and increasing.
  • Per capita positive rate, percent positive test rate and hospitalizations are all in the substantial spread category.
  • Test turnaround time is in the minimal spread ca

tegory but would reach moderate spread if it increases to over three days. Anything over five days would put it into the substantial spread category.
