INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said 3,973 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 587,049 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 8,913 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 41 from the previous day. Another 374 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 2,819,864 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,806,743 on Friday. A total of 6,386,194 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.
Bartholomew County reported 6,242 positive tests (up 26) with 94 deaths (no change) as of Saturday.
Surrounding counties reported:
Jackson County: 4,131 positive cases (up nine) with 45 deaths (no change).
Jennings County: 1,913 positive cases (up seven) with 35 deaths (no change).
Decatur County: 2,412 positive cases (up 14) with 82 deaths (no change).
Shelby County: 4,011 positive cases (up 30) with 78 deaths (up one).
Johnson County: 14,398 positive cases (up 131) with 284 deaths (up four).
Brown County: 855 positive cases (up six) with 30 deaths (up one).

The testing site in Columbus is located in FairOaks Mall at the former JC Penney location.
The Bartholomew Health Department and Windrose Health Network is also offering free COVID-19 testing.

Testing will be available to all members of the public regardless of symptoms. Children as young as 2 years of age can be tested with parental consent.
