COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Kimberly Ladda Hemphill, 77, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away from this life at 5:50 p.m. on 19 January 2021 at her home surrounded by family.

Mrs. Hemphill was born in Samut Sakron, Thailand, the loving daughter of Smyud and Sangwan Hienchasri.

Kimberly met a young Airman named Sanford A. Hemphill who was stationed in Thailand and on November 26, 1969 they were married in Turlock, California. They would eventually relocate to Columbus, Indiana and remained there happily married for 51 plus years.

Surviving to honor her life are her children, Supattra Feldt, Kansas City, MO, Chanida Maneechaiy (Richard Don) San Diego, CA, Orawan Maneechaiy-Dale, (Lawrence) Columbus, IN Prawit Maneechaiy, (Suchada), Samut Sakron, Thailand, Adisak Maneechaiy, (Thung Ngein), Bangkok, Thailand. There are also 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and countless friends.

Mrs. Hemphill was preceded in death by her parents, Samut and Sangwan Hienchasri; three brothers; one sister and her oldest daughter, Wannipa Herron.

Kimberly enjoyed going to the casinos and spending many fun filled hours on the slot machines. She had a lucky streak that just would not quit. When she was not at the casinos, she would love to watch her I-Pad and keep up with current events and news in Thailand.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Barkes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and from 12 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Due to pandemic restriction, we are limited to 50 people in the funeral home. We do ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines and masks are required in the funeral home.

Mrs. Hemphill will be cremated following the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
