BUILDER’S GUILD-VIRTUAL PROGRAM, Jan. 1 to 31. Join the Bartholomew County Public Library’s Builder’s Guild and participate in building challenges, exchange ideas, and share your creations in the virtual headquarters. LEGOs, K’Nex, Minecraft, and all building materials and formats welcome. This is an ongoing program — participate whenever you like. This month’s challenge is to build a spaceship. FAMILY STEAM: INDOOR SNOWBALL LAUNCHERS TAKE & MAKE, all day. Your family will learn about physics and the laws of motion by assembling your own indoor snowball launchers. Kit includes supplies to make two launchers, two “indoor snowballs,” and a packet of instructions and scientific method steps. One kit per household. Register with the Bartholomew County Public Library by Jan. 26 and pick up on Jan. 27 via curbside.
PERSONALIZED STORYTIME-TODDLERS, PRESCHOOLERS, AND KIDS, Feb. 1 to 8, virtual. Receive a special storytime made just for your little one from the Bartholomew County Public Library. Each storytime includes a personal greeting to your child! Between Feb. 1 to 8, fill out the survey at mybcpl.org/kids to sign up for a personalized storytime. A link to your storytime video will arrive via email within two weeks.
YOUNGEST ARTISTS TAKE AND MAKE: AGES 1-5, Feb. 1 to 16. Process art helps our youngest artists develop important skills by exploring art in a playful way. Register before Feb. 17 at mybcpl.org under "Events" to reserve your kit. Kits will be available for pick up via curbside on Feb. 18. Late registrants are not guaranteed a kit.
PARENTS NIGHT OUT, 6 to 9 p.m., Feb. 5, Columbus Gymnastics Center, 405 Hope Ave., Columbus. The event is for ages 5 and older with a cost of $25. Children can spend the evening at the Columbus Gymnastics Center playing games, making crafts and enjoying open gym time while parents go out and enjoy the evening off. YELLOW TRAIL MUSEUM/VISITOR CENTER, west side of Hope Town Square at 644 Main St., Hope. The board recently announced the museum would be closed for the season until the first full week of April 2021. This also includes the “Sunday Socials,” which typically meet the first Sunday of each month. ATTERBURY-BAKALAR AIR MUSEUM, located at Columbus Municipal Airport, 4742 Ray Boll Blvd., Columbus, is currently closed for winter upgrades. The museum will reopen in March of 2021.
