Donelda Breeding Cook

LOUISVILLE, KY

Donelda Breeding Cook passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Louisville, KY. Born August 13, 1938, in Hazard, KY to Pearlie Marie and Carl Breeding, she was predeceased by her husband Billy Joe Cook, her infant son Steven Travis Cook, brother William Woodrow (Sue Cook) Breeding and sister Moonene Breeding. She is survived by her loving daughter Mina J. Cook of Charlotte, NC, sister Mina Leigh (the late Otto) Feddern of Louisville, KY, brother Carl Wayne (Mary) Breeding of Lexington, KY, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Donelda grew up in Whitesburg, KY before settling in Columbus, IN for most of her adult life. She later moved to Prospect, KY and ultimately to Louisville, KY.

Donelda was many things to many people and always there to offer support to those who needed it most. She embodied what it meant to be a resilient, strong, kind, generous, patient and forgiving person. Her deep love of all people and animals (except snakes) was apparent to everyone who met her. She was a devoted and caring neighbor, friend, colleague, wife, sister, aunt, mother, and even “grandmother” (to many grand-puppies and kitties). She will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

Private services will be held in Columbus, IN. Remembrances may be made in her name to the Animal Care Society, 12207 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40245 or to any animal related charity, rescue, or shelter of significance to the individual wishing to honor her.
