COLUMBUS
Ryan Anthony Martin, 47, of Columbus passed away at 3:14 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born May 10, 1973, in Greensburg, he was the son of Anthony Martin and Karen (Pettit) Alexander.
Ryan graduated from Jennings County High School in 1993 and worked in stock and as a bagger for Foods Plus in Columbus for 10 years and had previously worked for Tower Super-Value of North Vernon. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus and Stigma Busters in Columbus. Ryan enjoyed studying the presidents, civil war history, watching movies, especially Star Wars, Star Trek and History movies. Ryan was known as a walking history book.
He is survived by his parents, Karen (Robert Sr.) Alexander of North Vernon and Anthony (Debbie) Martin of Fairland; brothers, Michael W. Alexander of Seymour, James C. (Carey) Alexander of Madison, Alabama, Darrell Martin of Hempstead, North Carolina, Justin (Tori) Martin of Fairland and Daniel (Shellie) Keever of Muskegon, Michigan; sisters, Shay (Scott) Speer of Seymour and Leah (Brian) Gault of North Vernon; grandfather, Norris Krall of Osgood; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Helen Pettit, G. JoAnn Martin Krall and Gerald Martin; brothers, Robert Alexander Jr. and Donn Keever; and sister, Carrie Keever.
A funeral service for Ryan will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Bro. Ricky Persons and Rev. Kristi Jones officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Graham Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in honor of Ryan through the funeral home to the American Heart Association.
