David “Dave” W. Ochs 57 of Greenwood, IN passed away Monday February 15, 2021 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN. He was born June 2, 1963 in Seymour, Indiana to Jimmie Dorrell Ochs and Mary Love (Simpson) Ochs. He married Rhonda A. (Gholson) Ochs on December 27, 1986 at 1st Baptist Church in North Vernon, IN, she survives. He was a 1981 graduate of Jennings County High School and continued at Purdue University receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in 1985. He had been an engineer and most recently a Technical Project Leader at Cummins in Columbus, IN from 1988 until 2021. He previously had worked at ArvinMeritor in Franklin for four years. Dave was a member and had served as an elder at Emmanuel Church Greenwood Campus at Stones Crossing for 30 years where he taught kid’s church, adult small groups/classes and mission trips to Cartagena, Columbia. He was a longtime ticket holder at the Indianapolis 500 and was an avid racing fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving family, his wife Rhonda A. (Gholson) Ochs of Greenwood, IN, three daughters Katie A. (Ochs) Robertson (Michael) of Newburgh, IN, Allie Ochs of Greenwood, IN, Maddie Ochs of Greenwood, IN, his grandson Titus James Robertson, his father Jimmie Dorrell Ochs of Greenwood, IN, brothers Gary Ochs (Chris) of Wilmington, NC, Jeff Ochs (Tammy) of Celebration, FL, mother in law Lois A. Gholson of Greenwood, IN, sister in law Rochelle Douglas (Jon) of North Vernon, IN, brother in law Ron Gholson Jr. (Pam) of North Vernon, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Love (Simpson) Ochs, his father in law Ron Gholson Sr.

Pastor Danny Anderson will conduct a celebration of life service on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at 7PM at Emmanuel Church Greenwood Campus at Stones Crossing 1640 West Stones Crossing Road Greenwood, IN and will be livestreamed on Emmanuel Church’s YouTube channel. The family will receive friends from 3PM until service time at the church. Due to COVID-19 Mandates, facial covering, mask and social distancing is required for those attending.
