NORTH VERNON
Mikal Wayne Moore, 54, of North Vernon, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at his residence.
Born March 12, 1966, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Robert Wayne and Janice Gayle (Lucas) Moore.
Mikal was a 1984 graduate of Jennings County High School and attended Wesleyan Bible College in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked for Hoosier Landscapes for 23 years and previously worked as a jailer for the Jennings County Jail. Mikal was a member of Nelson Artillery Reenactment group, Creude Dude Whiskey Club, Panther Falls Pyrotechnic and Display, Rocket Club, and Dupont Masonic Lodge #419. He attended the North Vernon Nazarene Church and was a former member of Wesleyan Church. Mikal enjoyed reenacting, fireworks, rockets, and guns. He also enjoyed spending time with his cat, Merlin.
Survivors include his sister, Candy Driver of Seymour; niece, Samantha (Cody) Frey of Striker, Ohio; nephews, Jaymes Driver and Cameron Driver, both of Seymour, and Ethan (Jessica) Driver of North Vernon; four great-nieces; and three great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for Mikal will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon, with the Rev. Jim Terry officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Masonic memorial Service will be conducted by members of Dupont Masonic Lodge #419 at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Mikal for Indiana Organ Procurement through the Indiana Donor Network Foundation.
