Scott County mobile clinic partners with ASAP to provide services

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Scott County health care organization is partnering with the Alliance For Substance Abuse Progress to offer free testing at a mobile clinic in Columbus each month.

Foundations Family Medicine, in Scott County, is bringing a free monthly Hepatitis C and HIV testing mobile clinic to Columbus. The colorful green van parks outside the ASAP Hub at 1531 13th St. Foundations Family Medicine offers follow up services, if necessary, following the test results. The results are confidential and available only to the patient.

Foundations Family Medicine’s testing service will tentatively be available on the last Friday of each month.

On Feb. 26, residents of ASAP Sober Living and Centerstone’s Whitney House volunteered their time to distribute free naloxone, an opioid antidote, and also general information on community resources and where those suffering from substance use disorder can find help.

“I am so excited to see how this event just seems to get more support each time we are able to host it and I look forward to watch it continue to grow!” said ASAP Recovery Specialist Rachel Rohm. “It is amazing to see just how much can be accomplished and how many people in need are able to be reached when we have the opportunity and the willingness to work together.”
